Move to the city!

For those who are bored. For those who are miserable, seeking something new. For those who just can't stand life the way it is; fed up with everything; depressed, bitter, in debt, tired, isolated, pissed, hammered, wasted, nervous, anxious, unhappy, unfriendly, unfit, unfucked, blow-jobless, heartbroken, lonely, ugly, dumb, doubtful, regretful, forgetful.
For those who think everything is a fucking mess; for those who are illiterate, illegal, bastards, bums, hopeless, joyless, unemployed, out of tune, out of place, outlaws.
Hey, you must have identified yourself with one of those things... if so, get your fucking ass out of that fucking couch and move to the fucking city!
Axl knew it better...
"You pack your bags
And you move to the city
There's somethin' missin' here at home
You fix your hair
And you're lookin' real pretty
It's time to get it out on your own
You're always fightin'
With your mama and you papa
Your family life is one big pain!
When you, you gonna move to the city?
Into the city where it all began
You gotta move, You gotta move
Ma,ma,ma,ma,ma,ma,ma,ma,ma
Time you gotta move"

VACATION TIME!!!!

Man... I CANNOT believe I'm on vacation.... one fucking week... Listening to Franz Ferdinand and The Jam and drinking my combo nbr2...
I'm going to Brussels with Paula and Patricia for the long weekend, just to get out of London for a while, but studying in the meantime....
Man, sooo excited about it...

I haven't written because I can't simply get myself to sit in front of the computer and type. I've been so fucking tired that the last thing I wanna do is to write about whatever. I got millions of pics to post but Ricardo never sends them to me so this is still something for later on...
But the funny thing is that I've been seeing so many fucking interesting things here, after nine months I've started to enjoy myself here. I guess it was due! We've been going out to All Bar One every Wednesday and on the weekend, when we're not traveling, we're going some place to have pints... my kinda thing, of course.

I'll try to keep you posted, but can't promisse ya that....
Btw, when I'm on MSN I wanna chat with you, Ro!!!! It's time we chatted!!!

Top 50 greatest bands ever

We went out last night to this pub near Piccadilly Circus called Waxy O'connor's, me and the people from the cafe: Claudia, Ricardo, Fernanda, Camila and Sandra. There is like a tree inside the place, which is really cool and the music is great. I think it was the first time I've been to a place here where they play rock instead of those shitty dance songs...
In no time I'd had three pints. Just like that. Unfortunately - well, maybe fortunately to my pocket - the pub closed at midnite and I couldn't drink much more than the fourth pint.
On our way to the bus stop I had the more than expected urge to go to the bathroom. There was one of those paid toilets, which costs 50p for you to use it, and I decided to give it a try. Maximun time is 20 minutes inside. It was occupied. But it didn't take much longer for the COUPLE to get out of there. It's pretty clean, though. After it's used it "cleans" itself ready for the next person, or people... Anyway, there are pics but, of course, Ricardo has them.

I went home and I was certain that I would do a bailinho... but nahh. Watched some TV, ate something...
On Sunday, when I was supposed to study a little, I watched TV all day. I've been really tired and learned on Friday that my shift for next week is 7 and 1/2 hours. It would be eight hours but I can't start at midday because my class ends at midday... Anyway, I watched the film 'Taxi Driver', cool. Then I kinda kept watching eveything, until I saw this Top 50 start. I love Top something. But I have to say that this is a Top 50 from a British point of view. I would have never imagined that Nirvana wouldn't make the top 5. And Green Day being the highest-positioned American band? And where are The Beatles? Is it because they can't show the videos?

Whenever I watch these Top something I remember back in my MTV days in Poa, when I was a teen. I used to write down on my journal the Top 10 of the day every single day, most of the videos being grunge bands...
Well, I watched Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' and I remember the very first time I saw it. It was 1991, MTV had gotten in Poa just a couple of months before. It was November or December, I'm not sure exactly when but I was on vacation. MTV had prepared those little ad-videos presenting the 'new bands' which were Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Live, Soundgarden and Ugly Kid Joe. Right after they played 'Teen Spirit'. I thought it was cool but had to confess that I was more into Pearl Jam at the time. Anyway, the point is that it happened 15 years ago... 15 fucking years ago... Yet the imagine is so vivid... I just can't believe that I'm 15 years older right now, not that I consider myself as a 13-year-old (at least not always!), but what makes me feel almost disturbed is that I haven't noticed, you know? The years'd gone by just like that and I honestly haven't noticed...

Rage

Yeap, rage is back alright...
A lot of things have been going on lately, and I haven't written...
Anyway, my brake from school ended and now my new course has started at International House. Man, it's pretty hard core. Along with the 3-hour-course per day I have 2-hour-homework, plus Silvio's Duke Street. I have to tell you that I haven't had time to do anything else. I haven't had a day off during the week for ages and Sunday is the only day I can put my shit together. The course is great, of course, but suitable for a person who doesn't have to work.

Well, work is starting to make me angry again. As you know, Monika, the manager, left the cafe. We had the farewell party last Saturday, expect pics. So, now it's basically me, Asia (new manager), no-show Elina, woodpecker-bear Justina and lazy-bastard. Last Tuesday Claudia worked in the afternoon, as it was Asia's day off, and we wanted to work together in front. But when we tried to make the switch-a-roo with Justina, to my susprise I learned that SHE was hired to stay IN FRONT while I, who's been working there for FOUR FUCKING MONTHS, have to continue working like an ostrich in that fucking sink!!! Outragious! And you know what the excuse is for her to be in front? She doesn't speak English very well and in the kitchen she would speak Polish all the time... And she has to learn to speak English... Fucking bastards, I say! Enroll in a fucking shool of English, you bitch!
Man... outragious...

The problem is that I don't want to keep working in the kitchen all the time. I mean, the least I expected was to make like a "trade", you know, meaning me working in the kitchen one week and she working there the other one and so on.
I have to admit, though, that Lazy-bastard and I have been getting along pretty well, which makes the job more bearable. We have a chat, he makes me bagle with jam, sometimes even finish washing cups and plates when I'm cleaning the toilets... And he even spoke to Silvio about my vacation and the boss said yes! So I guess I'll be going to Poland pretty soon... Of course, I have to bring him some stuff from there, Polish vodca and some other things.
I've said it many times but I'm saying it again: I need to get out of town!!!!
